The New Zealand Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run team took part in the festivities and a parade that marked the 30th Anniversary of New Zealand’s nuclear-free legislation. Held in the Auckland Domain on Sunday, June 11, one of the key speakers was Auckland’s mayor Phil Goff who was a member of the David Lange lead Labour government that bought the nuclear-free legislation into being in 1987 – the same year that Sri Chinmoy founded the Peace Run.
On Sunday, June 04, the New Zealand Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run team participated in the Christchurch half marathon, which is one facet of the annual Queen’s Birthday weekend Christchurch Marathon.
This video highlights some of the events that occurred during the 30th Anniversary Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run in New Zealand. The Peace Run traveled 700 kilometers through the North Island of New Zealand during early May of 2017 and will visit the South Island in March of 2018.
