News #27: Sri Chinmoy 3-Mile Race – Oxford

The second race of the Oxford Self-Transcendence Summer Series took place on Monday, 19 May 2025, at the scenic Cutteslowe Park. It was a beautiful spring evening that welcomed a strong turnout of 168 runners—113 men and 55 women—eager to challenge themselves and enjoy the spirit of friendly competition.

In the men’s race, Matthew Lock of Witney Road Runners claimed first place with an impressive time of 15:15, just ahead of his teammate and the previous race winner, Max Cunningham, who clocked in at 15:52. On the women’s side, Jamie Garry of Oxford City AC led the field with a strong 20:09 finish, while Harriet Howard, also from Witney Road Runners, followed closely in 20:33.

The event was the second in a three-part Grand Prix series. With some runners tied on points, the final race on 2 June promises to be a thrilling conclusion. Tiebreakers will be based on the number of races completed and the fastest times in the upcoming race, adding an extra layer of excitement and anticipation.
