News #40: Sri Chinmoy Dolls Point Half-Marathon, 10km & 5km – Sydney, July 6, 2025

Sydney’s annual Sri  Chinmoy Dolls Point event – held since 2007 – truly outdid itself this year. Athletes gathered at Peter  Depena Reserve for the Half-Marathon, 10 km, and 5 km, with several course records falling and performances that turned an ordinary Sunday into something extraordinary.

Anna Heath shattered the Half-Marathon F50‑59 record with an outstanding time of 1:27:38, while Jackie Murdy claimed the F60‑69 record at 1:32:44, finishing as the 5th woman overall. Teenage standout Eamon Corry made waves in the 5 km, setting a Boys Under 17 record with 16:58.

Men’s Half-Marathon winner Mitch McInnes ran a sharp 1:16:56, followed by Rede Carney (1:18:25) and Ian Gabriel (1:21:30). In the women’s under‑50 field, Madeleine Hoff led with 1:28:13.

The 10 km saw Fran Bell top the men in 37:13, and Jenny Dowd lead the women in 43:10. Young runners shone too: Eamon’s record run, Emma Felsman’s outright win in 21:37 (Girls U13), and Marcus Feldman’s Male 17+ win in 22:15.

With nearly two-thirds of participants tackling the Half-Marathon, the flat two-lap course crossing Captain Cook Bridge under sunny skies delivered memorable moments for all.

News #39: Dashing Deer 5K | Sri Chinmoy’s Summer 5K Series – London, June 17, 2025

On a perfect summer evening, 293 runners completed the scenic five-kilometre course at Battersea Park. Congratulations to Julian  Gregersen from the Faroe Islands, who came close to breaking his country’s 5K record with a stellar 15:05, and to Alex  Lane, who won the women’s race in 16:55.

News #38: 34th Sri Chinmoy 12/24‑Hour Race – Basel, Switzerland

The 34th Sri Chinmoy 12/24‑Hour Race was held June 14–15 at St. Jakob’s sports complex in Basel. On a flat, fast 1.1 km loop, the competition showcased impressive endurance and the spirit of self‑transcendence.

Top finishers in the 24-hour race:

  • Men’s winner: Andrea Marcato (Italy/Switzerland) covered 156.71 km
  • Women’s winner: Ilvaka Nemcova (Czech Republic) logged 135.18 km

A weekend of endurance, heart, and quiet determination unfolded at Rockland Lake State Park, as runners from across the region gathered for the Sri Chinmoy 12‑Hour, 24‑Hour, and Midnight Marathon.

Set on a peaceful 2.95-mile loop near New York City, this year’s race saw its largest turnout yet. Rain couldn’t dampen the spirit of the participants or the devotion of the volunteers who kept the course flowing smoothly through the night and into the next day.

24‑Hour (Men’s): François Decelles (Canada) – 114.99 miles
24‑Hour (Women’s): Gesiane Nascimento (NY) – 101.41 miles
12‑Hour (Men’s): Adrian Fernandez (NY/NJ) – 76.06 miles

News #36: Speedy Steeds 5K | Sri Chinmoy’s Summer 5K Series – London, June 10, 2025

On June 10, 2025, the Speedy Steeds 5K kicked off Sri Chinmoy’s Summer 5K Series at Battersea Park, London. The Tuesday evening race began at 7 PM on a flat, well-marked course—perfect for runners of all levels.

Over 340 runners took part, bringing warmth, determination, and community spirit to the event. Huge congratulations to all participants, with standout performances by:

  • Clare Elms, who set a new British Women’s 60+ 5K record in 18:20
  • Seyfu Jamaal, who won in 14:31
  • Adedeji Oluwatosin, with a personal best of 14:54 (2nd place)
  • Helen Gaunt, the first female finisher in 16:40
  • SLH juniors: Gabriella Booth (first U16 girl) and Wilfred Hughes (first U16 boy, running 16:51)
