On the weekend of 20–21 September 2025, 52 dedicated runners gathered at Battersea Park’s Millennium Stadium in London for the Self-Transcendence 24-Hour Track Race. Despite challenging, blustery conditions, participants embraced the physical and mental challenge of covering as many laps as possible within 24 hours.

In his debut at this distance, Julien Cazorla (FRA) led the men’s field with an impressive 242.939 km (150.955 miles). Paula Bedford (GBR) topped the women’s division with 188.605 km (117.193 miles). Notably, seven athletes surpassed the 200 km mark, and 31 runners completed over 100 miles, highlighting the event’s competitive spirit and the athletes’ endurance.

The race, organized by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team in conjunction with Run and Become, is renowned for its superb organization and has been a fixture in the UK ultrarunning calendar since 1989. It serves as a testament to the principles of self-transcendence, perseverance, and community.

On Sunday, 14 September, 2025, the Sri Chinmoy Yarra Boulevard Half Marathon, 10 km, and 5 km races were held in Richmond, Melbourne, Australia, along the scenic Yarra Boulevard. The Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team organized the event, offering a fast, flat, traffic-free course, perfect for both seasoned runners and newcomers.

Half-marathon runners started with a 1.1 km loop followed by four laps of the 5 km circuit, while the 10 km and 5 km participants completed two laps and one lap, respectively. The event drew a spirited crowd, united by endurance, community, and the joy of running together.

News #67: The 12th Annual Sri Chinmoy Peace-Mile 6-Hour Race – Munich, Germany, September 13, 2025

On September 13, 2025, Munich hosted the 12th Annual Sri Chinmoy Peace-Mile 6-Hour Race at Am Kapuzinerhölzl. This unique event invited both solo and relay participants to run as many laps as possible within a 6-hour window on a certified 1.58 km loop. The race is renowned for its welcoming atmosphere, excellent vegan catering, and supportive volunteers.

Participants demonstrated remarkable resilience and determination throughout the event. The event fostered a sense of community, with runners supporting each other throughout the day. The presence of relay teams added an element of teamwork and camaraderie, enhancing the overall experience for all involved.

News #66: The 18th Annual Self-Transcendence 4/21 km Race – Erdernet, Mongolia, September 13, 2025

On September 13, 2025, the 18th annual Erdenet Self-Transcendence Marathon was held in Erdenet, Mongolia. This tradition drew 100 runners in total: 83 competed over 4 km, and 17 pushed through the 21 km course. The morning brought heavy rain, yet despite the cold, wet conditions, runners showed up with courage and ran with pride from the start to the finish.

  • Youngest runner: A. Bundmaa, 9 years old (Erdenet 1st School)
  • Oldest runner: J. Odgiiv, 76 years old (Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team)

Deep appreciation to all who supported the event: the Orkhon Province Sports Department, Health Department, Orkhon Police Department, and the team at the “Khangard” Sports Complex. Thanks also to contributors from schools in Selenge and Orkhon, the Erdenet Ultra Club, “Elite Runners,” “Hurd Erdenet,” and many others whose participation made this a memorable community gathering.
