News #33: Ambassador Vani Rao Holds Peace Torch & Attends “A New World of Peace” Concert in Rome

On May 23, 2025, Her Excellency Ms. Vani Rao, Ambassador of India to Italy, attended the “A New World of Peace” concert in Rome, held in the spirit of Sri Chinmoy’s vision of global harmony. The event featured meditative music by the Sahadeva Ensemble and drew a warm, heartfelt audience.

Before the performance, Ambassador Rao held the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run torch, symbolising her support for international friendship and peace. She later offered an inspired speech from the stage, further enriching the evening’s uplifting atmosphere.

Sincere thanks to all the volunteers and members of the Sri Chinmoy Centre who helped bring this beautiful event to life.

Video #288: Peace Run Hungary 2025 – A Glowing Success!

From May 12–16, 2025, Hungary became a radiant beacon of peace as the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run traversed the country. Covering over 360 km in just five days, the team was greeted by more than 1,500 enthusiastic children and supporters, filling the route with sunshine, laughter, and boundless goodwill.

Schools joined spontaneously, torch in hand, with radiant faces and hearts open wide. The atmosphere was electric—fueled by joy, unity, and the unmistakable feeling that something truly special was unfolding. While local media highlighted the event across Hungary, it was the children—running, singing, and sharing the torch—who truly carried the spirit of the Peace Run forward.

The Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run is a global torch relay that offers everyone a chance to express their longing for peace. Since its founding in 1987, the Run has visited over 150 countries and territories, touching the lives of millions of people.

Video #189: The 24rd Annual Sri Chinmoy Self-Transcendence 3100-Mile Race (Salzburg, Austria – Sep. 13 to Nov. 3, 2020)

From September 13 to November 3, the 24rd Annual Sri Chinmoy Self-Transcendence 3100 Mile Race took place in a new location, in Salzburg, Austria. We made a number of modifications to strictly adhere to local health standards. This is the longest certified footrace in the world. It attracts athletes from around the world who want to test themselves against this daunting distance, transcend their own previous capacity, and participate in a great adventure. Along the way, they may also set new world records and gain spiritual insights.

Athletes are able to test themselves in a format, unlike any other ultra-marathon event. In order to meet their goal of 3100 miles in 52 days, they must log an average of 59.6 miles per day. The runners begin at 6 a.m. and run for extended periods throughout the day, taking breaks as needed. If they want to, they can continue as late as 12 midnight when the course closes for the night.
